What does waiting period mean in group health insurance?

1Answer

A waiting period is defined as the time specified which must pass before some or all of your health care coverage can begin. Hence, this is the period during which the claim is not admitted. Kuvera's group health insurance has the following waiting period:

An initial 30 days - Any disease contracted within 30-day will not be paid for, except accident cases. This restriction has been put so that people do not take the health insurance policy after being diagnosed with a disease.

Pre-existing condition/specific illness 2-year - Any pre-existing condition/specific illness declared at the time of policy issuance, they will not be covered for 2 years.
