How does a Switch order from Regular to Direct Plan get processed?

A Regular to Direct Switch is a type a of Switch order where Scheme A is a regular plan and Scheme B is a direct plan within the same AMC.  It is at your discretion whether you Switch from the Regular Plan to Direct Plan of the same scheme or a different scheme altogether. For eg. You can place a Switch order

1. Switch from ABC MF Equity Fund - Regular Plan to ABC MF Equity Fund - Direct Plan
2. Switch from ABC MF Equity Fund - Regular Plan to ABC MF Liquid Fund - Direct Plan

So you can use the Switch order to just shift from Regular to Direct Plans of the same scheme or rebalance into the Direct Plan of another scheme.
